Holidays coming up

Do you know what your going to be up to this coming long holiday.
Well let me tell you what my family and I is going to be up to.
On Thursday the 15th we will be heading down in a plane to Tinga to visit our grandparent that we haven't seen since December last year. To me thats a really long time.

Once we get there we only have one week to spend there before were going to jump onto a ship named the Pulupaki and head over to the Island named Tungua where both my grandpa and grandma lives.

ONe of my faviroute things that i like doing there is swimming. Down at there place there is no swimming pool. We only go for a swim down at the beach.

Sometimes when my uncle is not Busy he´d take us all to go and watch people play different kind of sports like netball and basketball.

At Camp Bentzon I would give a 10 out of 10 if there was a score board.
There we could do a lot of fun thing. Some of them are even funner than things we could do back here at Auckland.
We could go kayaking but this kayaking we could go even farer than we did for our last camp.
We did ab sailing too. That was one of my favorite activity that we up in the woods.
So if your a year 5 turning into a year six next year, you should make shour that you don´t miss out on the fun that we just finish having.

Missing out on High Jump

Sitting on the dry hot concrete listening to all the instructions that we were given I suddenly came up with an idea. That was to try and make it into the finals where all the people who came first second and third all get to race each other.

But I wasn't looking forward for running. The only sport activity I was looking forward to was high jump, even though I was no where near being good.
Jumping up and down for high jump we all gathered together with Miss Muliamaseali'i. She told us all that we weren't gonna have enough time, but we were going to have to do it on Friday.h

After listening to that little speech that she gave us, we didn't even want to do it any more, so we just lied on the bright green grass staring at all the rest of the people having fun on their last activity.

Next year when it's athletics again I hope that we don't only get enough time on high jump but to have fun on every single rotation that we do.

Ab sailing

Walking up the rocky hills on our way to Ab sailing, I had no Idea what we were going to be doing. But once our whole team Benzon B reached our target, I got over excited and was very Kenn to be the first person to have a try. But the very first thing that we had to get into was a whole lot of safety gear. On other words wedgie gear.

The very first part was my favorite, it was actually no different from rock climbing. It had small steps and some long steps that we really have to stretch our legs to reach our next target that were aiming for.

After reaching the top, Kimmila showed her biggest smile and gave us some instructions that we had to use while taking tiny steps on our way back down. First we had to to hang to to a rope that you would be given. She told us that there is nothing to worry about because this rope would only brake if half the All black team start playing Tiger war with it.

After hearing everything that Kimmila told, us as if it was a speech, I didn't even want to wait any longer. So then she told me that it's time for me to head down so that she could see how well I listen.

While heading back down, I my team started cheering and saying a cart that goes,

I will you will we will never give up.

At camp I really had fun spending time with people that I hadn't been playing with at school.

I hope we get to go again down at Camp Benzon, but this time have more fun and spend a lot more time.

Billy T

Yesterday morning the whole Pt England students.
One of my favorite movie was from the year 5 student who really worked hard
making it very funny.
They even had girls who were pretending to drive a car in the school grounds.

But the most best actor was Brodie Jack. He had confident and also didn't make it oviuse that he was doing all those funny things by purpose.
On the movie his name was Billy T
He was the only person who reported on the News.

Every time he says now we cross over to another person it would be always him there.
One time when he was acting as the weather lady his wig fell right of and at the same time the paper fell.

I had fun watching movies together with the whole school, and I cant wait to go there again.

Maths Whizz

Math Whizz is one of my favorite maths website. It doesn't only give you questions it also shows you some new strategies that you could learn from.
It has Touter and replay too.
Touter could show you new things that you haven't learned.
Replay could bring your mind back to what you have learned.But My most favorite thing to do is challenge people on Replay. We could even challenge a whole bunch of people that we don´t even know.
Those are some things that I really love about maths Whizz.

My Dream

Yesterday I had a dream that my family and I headed of to the Saturn to visit a friend. Her name was colorful.
She´s a alien that when she talks she turns into a different color.
She was as tall as a 7 year old human with no arm or legs. All she does is wiggle around and eat.
She told us that all aliens only eat pudding it´s their favorite, and they never get sick of it. They eat they sleep they don´t even have jobs to keep the busy.

While we were still there Colourful came up to us and told us to follow him so that we could go and explore.
First she took us to visit her mum and dad. They didn´t look any where near the same to each other. Her brother´s also came out to meet us all. She had 8 brothers and one sister their name were Random Lillie pop Nady sews Ned hast and lily the sister.

After meeting the whole family we headed down to the Cafe to get ourselves a cup of Milo. First we sat down talking about how different this planet is to earth. I couldn't stand sitting down on their seats so stood up not meaning to be so rude and said out loud what is this made out of.
They all looked at me like a they all have a eye problem. One of the costumers came up to me and said "well if your wondering what it´s made out of why don't you find out your self and dig into it.

We finally went back home. We all said good by to each other and left.

Uranaus

Because of a strange reason some parts of Uranaus spins the planet around and night times could take up to 40 years.
Uranus has 27 known satellites
In Asian languages, Uranaus name is translated into Sky King star.
This planet is also 14 times larger than Earth.
It is the least dense planet after Saturn.
The planet was discovered in 1781 by William Hershel.

Jupiter info

If you weigh 100 pounds on earth you could weigh 264 pounds on Jupiter.
This planet has a mass 318 times greater than earth.
Jupiter rotates faster than any other planets in the Solar System.
It rotates so quickly that the days are only 10 hours long.
But it takes 12 earth years for Jupiter to complete an orbit around the sun.
The great red spot on Jupiter is a storm that has been going on for the last 300 years.
In fact you could also fit 100 Earths sizes in it.

Mars Info

Mars is red because it is rusty. It also has a lot of iron under the soil. This planet is named after the Roman God of wars.
The air down at mars turned it red just like rust iron down at earth.
One of mars moon Phobos is moving closer and closer to mars and that makes scientist think that one day they would both crash into each other.
Mars also has the tallest volcano through out the whole solar system. It is also 15 miles higher than Mt Everest.
Like Earth, the poles on mars are covered in ice, and at winter it turns even thicker.
At Mars the Martin day is half an hour longer than earth.
100 pound man on earth could even be 38 pounds at mars.

My Holidays

During our 2 week school holiday, my family and I drove down in our family van to Okahu Bay.
There we met people from church, with some of their family members.
I only played on the big flying fox that we sit on instead of hanging on to it. While were on it near the end it looks like were going to hit into the pole holding the string up. SOme people even buddied.

The funny thing was that some of the youth people started doing the same. They were all different ages and also different sizes too.

Latu and two of her friendś from youth tried going on at one time. Anne and Gabby Fell down straight away on the ramp just in front of where they stood.
Latu looked back and laughed while struggling to get up.

Outta This World

Today was our first day of term 4. We all met in the school hall for immersion assembly.
Our teachers all dressed up in all sort of different costumes. Mr Burt didn't he dressed up in his school uniform like us student.

Then it was time for the teachers to show what they have been working on during the school holidayś

My favorite team was the year 7 and 8 teacher´s they didn't need to get up they made a star wars movie with their own faces stuck to the actors. Some of them looked funny and some suited it and looked perfect like Mrs Langitupu.

Mr Harris was one of the funny people. His face wasn't like Mr Barks who acted as a man. Instead he was the princess. In fact the actor who was in the movie made it sound just like he was the real person in the ship

I had fun watching all the teacher. Itĺl be even better if some kids were in it. That would crack up some kid´s.
I can´t wait to see what the teachers are going to prepare next time

George Nepia

George Nepia was a Maori rugby union and rugby league player. He is known as a professional full back and one of the all blacks famous players. Aussie Rules

Starting on the fifth week of school room 16 and 17 had some lessons of badminton with Megan. First we started of with some simple facts on how we can pass while playing this game. Our first Pass that we learnt was the hand pass. It is way more diffrent from how we pass on Rugby. We had to use our less |

hand to pretend that you are holding a ice cream cone so that you could push it up somebody's nose. But that wasn’t just the pass that we learn t, we also learned how to drop punt, That is the only way we could kick. First we had to make sure that the lasses were away from our faces, and both our hands had to hold it from the curve. After getting all those instructions right we kick it. If you did it properly it would go straight to where you were targeting it to go.


After learning how to hand pass and drop punt we had some little activities to warm ourselves up. Our first activity that we played was ninja elbow. For Ninja elbow we have to get into buddies so that we could try to hit each other on the elbow. First one who gets three hits wins. After playing that we had another activity similar to ninja elbow but this game was Ninja knees. Instead of hitting their elbow we hit there knees and that made it even harder.


Finally it was time for a longer game. Aussie base ball. It sounds quite boring but believe me it is very fun. Instead of using a base ball we used a rugby ball. First we had to kick the ball and if somebody catches on a fuel that means that you out. But if they miss it the teacher gives you another ball and you run with it so that you can bounce the ball between the cones which is 10 meters long or 20 steps long.

South Africa Flag

The South Africa flag is not just made up. It is a real story that happened in the olden days. For some people who were still alive that time would feel really bad.

White people that time treated black people really badly. They were both different. The black people had poorer qualities than the white people. They were not aloud to drink from the same fountain or eat from the same restaurant or anything else. They were really badly badly` treated.

In the 1980 Nelson Mandella went to prison just because he stood up for his people. H ewas released from jail after spending seventy eight years.

Nelson Mendella was a very important person after being released and bacame the first black person to become a president for south Africa.

Rugby World Cup Opening

Did you know that the rugby world cup opening was held at Eden Park on Friday last week. My highlight for the opening was the fire works. I really liked the colors ,and how it blew up in the dark sky. It even had fire works near the sky tower. Some of the fire works were blasting up like fire.

There were people who just came to town to watch the fire works and to take pictures of it too.

When the glittering fire works had finished. One of the t.v presenter interviewed Jonah Lomu. He is a star on rugby. He is’nt just a star though he is a star on scoring the most tries across the whole world. That could be the most amazing thing for me if I was him.

After interviewing Jonah Lomu the game began. It was Ikale Tahi's kick off.

I was cheering for the Tongan team. Even though they didn’t do well on the first half but i still like the way they defended. The All Blacks team were still good enough to get the most tries and are the first team to win there game for the Web Allis trophy.

As always the people who cheered for the Tongan team would say that the reeth of the game dosn’t know how to do his job propoley or they say that they cheated which really didn’t happen. The All Blacks won the game because of a reason. The reason was that the Tongan team were to slow and they didn’t have as much energy as the people in the All Blacks team.

Pt England 7s Champions

Our year eight boys rugby team from Point England intermediate headed off to Tauranga so that they could compete against a whole lot of other rugby teams from across New Zealand.
At Tauranga they competed against seven other rugby teams, that means they played more than one game every day. That would be very tiring for me because they had to wake up early and also do a lot of training and exercise. The good news is they won all seven games and are now New Zealand's best intermediate rugby team champions.

My Rugby Poem

Rugby is a game that sometimes you get hurt.
You get tackled like you're a teddy bear.
Sometimes it looks like someones bullying you by stripping the ball off you.
But it's a very good game to play if you train so that you could get fit and of course know how to tackle.

Room 16 on 1 News

Did you watch the channel One News. Room 16 were on there and if you dont believe me click on One News to go to the link of the website for the proof.
We were on there because in our school Pt England we have little netbooks that we work on to do our work. Some schools also came on the News but it was not because of them getting netbooks instead it was actually because they want the goverment to help them get some for their schools.I felt very excited because this was the first time that we as a whole class have been on the television.
Awhile ago Mr Burt was on 3 News walking around talking about how we use our netbooks and also what we use it for.

New Zealand is a country that is part of the pacific ocean. It has contains three main islands that are the North Island, South Island and Stewart Island. It also has a couple of little island too.

New Zealand was first explored by James Cook who was a British man that went around the world to explore different countries.
In New Zealand the capital city is Wellington. The Prime Minister is John Key, he Lives there and also works there too. He works in a massive building that is named as the Bee Hive. It is also the third main popular urban area of New Zealand.

The Maori name for New Zealand is Aotearoa. It is Known as the Land of the Long White Cloud. In New Zealand There are 3 main languages that they speak. They are English Tereo Maori New Zealand Sign language.

Life Education Van

Yesterday after we had fitness it was our turn to go and visit the life education van. Our first instruction was to take our shoes off and put them some where that had shelter just in case it rained and our shoes got all soaking wet. After our first instruction we had to get into a line where the tallest goes in the front and the shortest goes at the back of the line. When we walked in Lynn put us in lines of four with the tallest at the back. We had to make way for our wonderful teacher Mr Somerville.

While we were siting there waiting for Harold to come out Lynn knocked on
his door so that Harold would know that Lynn was about to get him. When Harold came out he said very nice things about room 16.
Harold even asked Lynn some questions about the girls in our class, like "Can she be my Girlfriend?" With no surprises the answer was a definite no! Before those weird questions Lynn read us an email that Harold got from his principle Mr Lion. It was a letter telling him about his homework, which we got to help with.

Finally it was learning time. We didn't just actually just do the homework we actually learned some things that we didn't know as well as helping with Harold's homework. I really liked the first question of Harold's homework. It was about how we can keep our body clean, healthy and fit. Like washing yourself, drinking water, eating healthy food and a whole lot more. I really liked visiting the life education van and I can't wait to go there again this Friday!

My holiday story

My highlight for my Holiday was going in the plane to visit my unties uncles cousins and also
my grandpearents. In the plane I was so excited because I haven't visited them since last year
on December the 11th. All I rememberd from our last time that we visited was that my
granpearents moved to a island that called Tungua and it is also Tonga too. We use a big large
ship to go there and it takes a very long time to get there. The ship that we go on every time
we visit is the Pulupaki. When the ship is nearly there the ship stops and little boats comes and
picks us up and also our bags and things that we came with from Tonga.

MOTAT

On Thursday morning room 15, 16, and 17 headed off to MOTAT for our school trip.

My highlight of the day was how we went exploring around all of the exhibits at MOTAT. The coolest part of the day was at the prison room. It had a man lying down looking straight through the window. The man had a blanket over him to keep him warm. But there was also a bucket under his bed. The bucket underneath his bed was used for when he needed to go toilet. I had fun at MOTAT and I hope that we can go there again.

Surprise!!

Something brushed up against my foot and my suprise turned to horror as I looked down and saw a horrible long snake that looked very scaly. The snake was staring at me as if it wanted to eat me all up. That made me scared and also made me want to scream but I decided not to scream and just run.

While I was running away from the terrible snake I turned around and there it was slithering across the grass and aiming towards my legs. I ran and I ran shouting, “Mum, Mum! There is a snake trying to eat me all up!" But my Mum couldn't hear me because she was too busy feeding my little sister.

So I just kept on running. I ran around the house but still the terrible snake was still slithering behind me. I stoped and looked back at the snake. It looked very tired so I kept running so that when it got too tired to chase me I could just lie down.

Finally it was too tired to chase me anymore. It stopped and lay in the grass like a dead snake but it wasn't because it was still breathing. It was still looking at me. It made me very scared but this time I didn't run but I did scream “Mmmmuuuummm!”

Partly Cloudy

The movie we watched was called partly cloudy. In the movie there were 2 main characters who were Partly cloudy and the Stalk. The movie was set in the sky where the clouds were. At the beginning of the movie the clouds were making babies and the stalks were delivering them to the new Mums and Dads. In the middle of the movie Partly Cloudy was not very happy. Partly Cloudy was not happy because the other clouds and the stalks who were working for them had heaps of fun making and delivering. But all partly cloudy could do was make dangerous and scary animals. At the end of the movie the stalk came up with an idea of how he could protect himself from all of the dangerous animals that partly cloudy could make. He decided to go and see another cloud and got him to make some football gear so that he could protect himself.
I would give the movie a 10/10 because at the end it was a happy.

My Paper Tower

On the first week of term two Room 16 had an opportunity to make a tower out of paper. After my first attempt failed we got to have another go. We used scissors, cellotape, glue stick, and rolled up paper. First I glued the rolled up paper then stuck it together to make it taller. I thought it was easy in the begining but as the time went past it was even harder. While I was working with my paper my tower fall over and busted. So I had to start all over again!

Bigger, Better, Faster, Stronger!

Last week on Thursday Room 16 we tried to build a tower out of paper. We had a choice to work on our own or to work with a buddy. I chose to work with a buddy so that we could work together and share our ideas. My buddy was Britney.

First Britney and I shared our ideas so that we could choose who's idea was the best for us to use. When we both finished telling each other our ideas Britney choose my idea which was to make triangle legs and make the bottom part wide and make the top part thin. I didn’t agree with Britney because I thought that her idea was to make triangle legs but roll all the parts thin so that the legs can hold all the paper.

At the end our tower looked horrible and it couldn’t stand up. But it didn’t matter because we weren't the only ones! I felt happy because I didn’t just sit there like I normally did.

Miss Rogers

Today we have a wonderful lady in our classroom. Her name is Miss Rogers. She has a different accent from us because she came with a bunch of other people from America. She has a wonderful looking and she suits the way she dresses. Miss Rogers is a very kind person and she is always polite. I hope She would visit us again.

Dereyk the Dinosaur

Along time ago when

Once upon a time when there were no people on earth there lived a dinosaur whos name was Dereyk she was a brutisaurus. Deryeks was diffrent from her family she was bright green and her family was bright brown. Deryek was the youngest out of all her 24 brothers and sisters. Deryek and her brothers and sisters liked to play hide and seek in the Jungle near there house. Dereyk would always be proud that he always win, but really it was because he was smaller than the rest and he could always see there leagnthey necks sticking up through the jungle.
Dereyk was mostly diffrrent because he liked to dance. Her favorite dance was hip hop. Dereyk was the most happiest when he dance. She would forget all about how odd she looks like than her family. when Dereky dances the other little dinosaurs near her jumps up and down like like they are jumping on a trampoline.

Camp

On Wednesday it was our first day of camp and it was so exciting. When the bell rang we had to line up in front of our class. But this time we did’nt have to wait for anyone to get into the line and it was a miracle because no body was talking but the people who were nervous.When we got into the hall we got into our teams which were the Super charges Fully charged True crew and the Responstars.Our team leaders were standing at the front of our team lines trying to get the people
On our fist day of camp some people were very excited. Some people looked like they did not did'nt want to come to camp and the team leaders were trying to get people who were still talking to close there mouth so that we could get some point.When it was quiet Miss Garden started telling us what we are going to do when we get out of the hall.Miss Garden told us that our first activity was at the swimming
pool at YMCA.

My hilight was kyiaking with Mr Burt.We had to walk over to the Point England reserve.
When we got there Mr Burt and his helpers Feki and Joe showed us how to get into the kyak. Our instructions were foot bottom foot. When Feki and Joe finished Showing us and telling us the instruction they showed us something diffrent from last year camp, it was a double kyiak and it could fit two people. Finally it was time to get into the water. The water was cold that I want’ed to get out but we were’nt aloud to. While we were waiting for our turn we had stay in the water so that we could get use to the cold water when it is our turn in the kyiak. Finally I got a turn I first went on with Maru. Maru was in the front so that means that she had to lead but I could choose where to go. When we had to turn around the pole it was a bit scary but I manage to get it right.When it was time to get out it was freezing like we just finished eat heaps and heaps of ice blocks. I had heaps of fun kyiaking and I can'nt wait until we go kyiaking next year on camp.

Japan 2011 Tsunami

Guess what happened on Friday? Well on Friday afternoon there was a big disaster that happened at Japan . First it came as a earth quake but after the earth quake out came a Tsunami. The Tsunami was so big that there are up to 1o thousand people who are missing and many of them are dead. At Japan when the Tsunami was comeing some people were still driving in there car to find a safety place to stay. But Sadly the car went to slow and the big wave from the Tsunami catched up and washed it away.May God bless all the people in Japan and keep them happy and safe.

Christchurch Earthquake 2011

Sadly at Christchurch there was an earthquake that had hit the city at about lunch time. Some people were still in the city doing there work. There are many buildings that look like they had been tipped over.

The cathedral which was built a long time ago got destroyed from the earthquake. Near the earthquake there were some collage students who were on a trip and saw it happen.

The sad thing about the earth quake is that some people have died. Some of the people who were still working are still trapped inside. But there are some people who are still alive but they cant find a way out because there are to many bricks that they can’t get off of them.

May God bless all those people who are fighting for there lives and people who are stuck in buildings.

Take Charge

This year we are learning about responsibility and sometimes you are going to hear people who are going to be saying "Take Charge." Taking charge is like taking really good care of your belongings. Taking care is just like responsibility.

At our school from some of the year 4 and all the year 5 to 8 they get to have flash netbooks instead of a whole bunch of books. On our netbook we get to do all our work in it which is very cool. That means we have to be responsible for our netbooks and also take charge.

All insects has six legs. Some has wings and even some ants have wings. Butterflys are also insects they also have colourful wings. When a butterfly lays an egg they always lay them on the leaf of a swan plant. When the egg hatches out comes some catipillars.After the catipillar has eaten enough enough leaves it soon turn s in to a chrycilis that hangs at the bottom of a brunch on the tree. Fopr a long time the chrycilis does not move or eat but there is something going on inside the chrycilis.A few days latter the chrycilis opens apart and out comes a beautiful colourful butterfly.


Spibers are scary but some are dangreouse not so dangreouse. My faviroute spiders are the daddy long legsthey dont harm You and they dont look pretty scary too. Some spiders live near plants some livi in buildings and some live in thethe conner of your house.Most spider make sticky web so it could catch other insects for dinner
Insects are very speacial some are inmportant.Just like worms.They can make soil so the plants could grow.S
